I write “SIMPLE / MENTE” in all caps because it looks solid like a brand and human like a scream. It’s two words because they represent two album lines that share a universe and I switch their order because neither is more important: they’re like the “X” or the “e” in gender-neutral language.
I’ve always felt both respect and fear for this encounter. I imagined it as something huge, but with each release, it becomes more fragile. Will you join me in holding this much sensitivity? We are that person who doesn’t fit in their own skin, who knows more than they understand, questions more than they’d like, and rehearses more answers than they give. In vulnerability lives our strength, even if we don’t know it yet. We’re about to discover it.
I chose a solid and powerful base: a kick drum that hits like a digital punch, a bright snare and strings floating freely, recreating a space that is both unreal and coherent.
