Have your ever left a relationship to avoid pain?
With this song I wanted to perpetuate that sensation
and revisit the idea of “lose to win”.
The album “Lado B Side” digs in unpopular topics: being Vulnerable, feeling alive being hurted (Duro) , ignoring instead of hating (Amnesia)… and this time I wanted to talk about the “flight response”, exalting the cowardly antihero who choose the easy escape -or maybe the only one- in an esthetic way.
It wanted it to sound monstrous: heavy, slow and cold, with a descending chords progesión and ostentatious in austerity: For 3 minutes the song is only melody’s voice and 4 chords of piano. I definitely think that simplicity -few melodic lines, much repetition and silences- is pure luxury.
Once solved the contrast typical of most any piano/voice song, I wanted the instrumental conclusion to eat all of the above: sounding dramatic, giant and to exacerbate each possible harmonies. I love when harmony is so rich that seems to be noise as in “Insomnia” but I wanted something more orchestral, so it added a rallentando at the end to feel it like the fall of a titan.
Another creative point was the structure: It’s a story that begins singing the final (verse, chorus, bridge, chorus, verse). After finish the track, I would have liked to repeat the first chorus instead of adding a second to extend the mirror sensation.
I postponed its launching day in August because it didn’t reflect the season I was going through. When I uploaded it, it reflected exactly what I was living and because of that it was another 3 months without diffusion. And that’s how it comes: tired, mistreated and old.

¿Alguna vez abandonaste una relación para evitar el dolor?
Con ésta canción quise eternizar esa sensación
y revisitar la idea de “perder para ganar”.
El album “Lado B Side” escarba temas poco populares: ser Vulnerable, golpearse Duro para sentirse vivo, ignorar antes que odiar (Amnesia)… Y en ésta oportunidad quise hablar de la respuesta de huída, reivindicando al antihéroe que elige la salida fácil -o tal vez la única- de una forma estética.
Quería una canción monstruosa: pesada, lenta y fría con una progesión de acordes descendente y excesiva en austeridad y riqueza: Durante 3 minutos la melodía de la voz y los 4 acordes del piano son todo (definitivamente creo que la simpleza -pocas líneas melódicas, mucha repetición y silencios- es puro lujo).
Una vez resuelto ese contraste típico de cualquier tema piano/voz la conclusión instrumental se come todo lo anterior: dramática, gigante, exacerbando las armonías posibles. Amo cuando la armonía es tan rica que bordea el ruido como en “Insomnio” pero quería algo más orquestal, por lo cual agregué un rallentando final para que se sienta como la caída de un titán.
Otro punto creativo fue la estructura: Es un historia que empieza contando el final (estrofa, coro, puente, coro, estrofa) y no se enamora de ninguna letra -Aunque me hubiese gustado repetir el primer coro para ampliar la sensación de espejo.
En Agosto pospuse su fecha de lanzamiento ya que no reflejaba el momento que estaba viviendo. Al subirla reflejaba exactamente lo que estaba viviendo por lo cual estuvo 3 meses más sin difusión.
